Vintage horology books, watchmaking notes, and a pocket watch arranged on a work table.
What kinds of watches do you service?

Mechanical, vintage, and modern watches, including crystal, stem, crown, and restoration work. I review all makes and models, subject to condition, parts, and repair cost.

Do you work on watches that are not expensive?

Yes. Sentimental value matters as well as market value. I’ll explain the likely cost so you can decide.

Is there an inspection fee?

The photo review is free. The $65 fee covers a completed inspection, including when repair is impossible, and is waived if you approve the repair estimate. Agreed return shipping is separate. Some restorations require a separately approved $125 evaluation deposit that replaces the $65 fee unless otherwise agreed, is earned as evaluation proceeds, and is credited toward approved restoration. The unearned balance is refundable. Fees are confirmed before shipping; submitting a request does not charge you. All amounts are in U.S. dollars. Read the Inspection & Estimate Policy.

Will you begin work before I approve the estimate?

No. You approve the estimate first. I’ll ask again before adding work or cost.

Do you automatically polish vintage watches?

No. We’ll discuss polishing, refinishing, and changes to visible parts before work begins.

How long will service take?

I’ll give you an estimated turnaround time with the quote. Parts availability, wear, and previous repairs can affect timing.

How much does service cost?

I quote after reviewing the watch. If the likely cost seems high compared with the result, I’ll explain that before you decide.

What if parts are no longer available?

I’ll explain the options and any limitations. If a suitable repair is not possible, I’ll tell you.

Is a vintage watch waterproof after service?

No. Do not assume a vintage watch is water-resistant after service. That depends on its condition and appropriate testing.

How should I ship the watch?

Start with a service request. We’ll confirm the shipping method, declared value, and coverage before you send it.

What does the 12-month warranty cover?

Workmanship and reasonable adjustments related to the approved service are covered for 12 months from the recorded service-completion date. Exclusions apply only to the extent an excluded cause, rather than defective covered work, caused the problem. See the Warranty page for claims, remedies, and shipping costs.

Are you affiliated with Rolex, Omega, Breitling, or other manufacturers?

No. L.M. Campbell, LLC. is independent and is not affiliated with or authorized by those manufacturers.

How do the military, veteran, and first responder discounts work?

Choose your service status in the form. I may ask for suitable proof before invoicing. Do not send a military ID or CAC copy.

Authentication and convenient shipping

Do you offer authentication?

Yes. Online photographic authentication is $100; physical/in-person authentication is $300. Both include a documented report with scope and limitations. Compare the services.

Is the Watch Concierge Kit included?

No. It is optional and has an additional quoted service fee. Shipping charges and any return/deposit arrangement are confirmed separately. See the kit contents.

Does a matching serial prove authenticity?

No. Historical date references cannot establish authenticity, originality, ownership or stolen status. Explore the lookup and its limits.
