A Note About Vintage Watches

Age always matters.

Age, wear, previous repairs, and parts availability can limit the result. I’ll explain known limitations before you approve the work. Do not assume an older watch is water-resistant.

Full limited warranty

The following is section 14 of the Service Terms & Conditions, version 2026-10-12.3. Read the full terms for property claims and other liability provisions.

Warrantor and duration. L.M. Campbell, LLC. provides a 12-month limited service warranty beginning on the service-completion date stated in your final service record, which we send when the watch is ready for return. Customer payment, collection, or delivery delays do not restart the period. This voluntary warranty is for the customer who purchased the service; transfer requires our written agreement. Legal rights that extend to others are unaffected.

What is covered. Defects in our workmanship and reasonable timing or functional adjustments directly related to the completed, approved work are covered. Proper installation of parts is included. The warranty does not promise that every part of the watch was overhauled or that an unrelated component will not fail. Any separate express warranty on a supplied part must be identified in writing; applicable implied warranties are not disclaimed by this statement.

What is excluded. Coverage does not extend to ordinary wear, aging, preexisting conditions outside the approved work, or failures caused by impact, misuse, neglect, improper handling, water or moisture, magnetism, corrosion, battery leakage, contamination, or exposure beyond stated limits. These exclusions apply only to the extent that the excluded cause, rather than defective covered work, caused the problem. Opening or servicing the watch elsewhere does not automatically void all coverage; damage caused by that intervention is excluded.

Vintage limitations. Any known limitation affecting the scope or expected performance of a restoration must be identified and separately accepted before that work. An invoice issued afterward cannot remove coverage. A disclosed limitation does not shorten the 12-month period for other covered workmanship or excuse careless work. We do not use a blanket vintage-watch exclusion to eliminate the warranty.

How to claim. Contact us through the Request Service page in section 22. Give your name, service reference if available, and a description of the problem. Report a covered problem during the warranty period, then follow our return instructions. A claim reported in time remains open while reasonably being evaluated or remedied. Keep a reasonable record of service; a missing original receipt alone does not defeat a claim if service can otherwise be verified.

Remedy. We will inspect and, for a covered defect, correct or repeat the affected work without charging for the labor or parts necessary to correct our workmanship. We may instead refund the amount paid for the affected service if that is a reasonable remedy in the circumstances. If correction is not reasonably possible within a reasonable time, we provide that refund. Give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and remedy the issue before obtaining outside repairs. We do not reimburse unapproved third-party work unless required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent additional harm. These are the exclusive remedies under this voluntary warranty to the extent permitted by law; section 16 does not reduce the promised correction, refund, or warranty-shipping obligations. Physical loss of or additional damage to the watch is addressed separately under sections 13 and 16. If a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose, applicable legal remedies remain available.

Warranty shipping and other costs. Contact us before shipping. You pay the agreed shipping to us for a warranty assessment. For a covered claim, we pay the agreed standard return shipping, including the confirmed shipment protection; inbound shipping is not reimbursed unless required by law or separately agreed. Requested expedited service and other upgrades are your responsibility if approved in advance. If the claim is not covered, we explain the reason and you pay the agreed return shipping. No diagnostic fee or additional repair is imposed without separate approval. A warranty correction does not restart or extend the original 12-month period except where required by law; a covered claim reported in time remains eligible for completion of its remedy after that period ends.

Your legal rights. We do not disclaim the implied obligation to perform repairs in a good and workmanlike manner or any other warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State. Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the limitations in section 16 may not apply to you.
